Have you ever wanted to attempt to consume your weight in gourmet desserts and wine, and feel like a good person for doing so?
On Thursday, Jan. 30, Being Alive will host its second annual “A Sweet Affair” at the Joyce Beers Community Center, where San Diego’s experts of chocolate and sugary decadence will provide unlimited samples of their finest concoctions for about the price of dinner and a movie ($25). All the event’s proceeds will go toward funding the truly invaluable care and services Being Alive provides for San Diegans living with HIV and AIDS.
Swoon, Babycakes, Nothing Bundt Cakes and seven other San Diego businesses have donated their time, skill and their mouth-watering creations, and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly will pair wine and champagne to go along with them. KOGO Radio’s Ladona Harvey will emcee.
Attendees, along with a panel of celebrity judges, will be tasked with the delicious burden of choosing their favorite treat of the evening. Given that each of the ten businesses are expected to bring multiple items, sampling everything may be a daunting task.
