SAN DIEGO -- Harvey Milk’s American Diner will be the site for the Children’s Holiday Magic Project — Founder’s Day Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 7 from 4-8 pm.
The event will feature entertainment and a special birthday celebration for founder, Jeff Gelder, who will lead the organization into its 12th anniversary year.
Joining Gelder will be Broadway actress Ashley Fox Linton, radio personalities Dawne Davis from Easy 98.1 and Sam Bass from 96.5 KyXy along with Magic Mike the magician and mystic intuitive Heather Renee.
Holiday Magic, A Gift for Children of All Ages is the brainchild of Gelder, voice actor, radio personality and audio producer. Creating the annual compilation CD with original fun songs and stories uses the talents of a variety of actors and singer/songwriters. The CD is given out during the holidays to hospitalized children.
The international reach for the project continues to increase: In 2013 over 7,000 CDs were supplied to children in U.S. cities, London and Singapore. The goal is to distribute 10,000 CDs in 2014.
The June 7 event will include a free buffet provided by Harvey Milk’s American Diner. The public is invited to attend, and donations are optional but welcomes.
Harvey Milk's American Diner is located at 535 University Ave. in Hillcrest.
About the Children’s Holiday Magic Project
Since 2003, the Children’s Holiday Magic Project has created an annual compilation CD of unique songs and stories featuring characters. It is handed out free to children who are hospitalized during the holiday season. Generous contributions from singers and actors for the custom songs and stories have made the task possible, along with the support of sponsors and non-profit partners. Find out more HERE.
