SAN DIEGO, California -- HRC San Diego, California Against Slavery, and Truman National Security Project have collaborated to bring an informative panel discussing the dangers of sex-trafficking, tonight from 5:30-8:30 pm at the San Diego LGBT Community Center.
Participants will learn how sex-trafficking affects the community, San Diego, and the globe.
Daphne Phung - Founder of California Against Slavery;
Shawn VanDiver - Co-Director of Truman Project San Diego and US Navy Veteran;
Sarah Boot - Former US Attorney prosecutor and current member of Lawyers Club human trafficking task force; and
Carmen Kcomt - Direct of human trafficking and social services at La Maestra Community Health Centers.
The panel is scheduled to begin at 6pm and a short reception/meet and greet will follow.
The Center is located at 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest.
