AIDS Walk San Diego update: Teams are forming ...

Teams are forming – and fundraising – for the 27th annual AIDS Walk/Run San Diego. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016.

Thinking about forming a team? Please do! AWSD teams make a huge impact on AIDS Walk by raising approximately 70% of the event’s total funds annually.

“AIDS Walk teams not only make a difference for HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs in San Diego, but it’s also an inviting way to build community,” said Ian Johnson, director of events for The San Diego LGBT Community Center, which produces the event. “By forming a team you’ll have a great time with great people for a great cause.”

Teams can range in size from two to more than 1,000 walkers. Those teams that register 10 or more walkers/runners or raise $1,000 or more by 8am on Monday, Sept. 19, will receive the legendary yellow shoe placard featuring the team name. These teams will also get a special “Team Meeting Station” on the day of the event.

Team members can participate in either the 5K Walk or the 5K Run. Register your team today at www.aidswalksd.org
