Protesters will gather in San Diego on Jan. 21.
Women’s groups across the country are organizing a March on Washington in January and San Diego will have its own mobilization.
The march hopes to send a clear message to the new administration that women’s rights are human rights.
The event is scheduled for January 21, 2017, and organizers say through their Facebook event listing that it will be held in “love and light of unity and inclusivity.”
The event has already accumulated 1.3k attendees and will represent the West Coast in San Diego for people who cannot make it to the Washington D.C event.
The march is scheduled for 11 am in downtown San Diego, but coordinators recommend getting to the assembly at least an hour in advance.
“This is not an 'Anti Movement' this is a PRO movement," reads the Facebook summary. "This is a Pro Peace Movement. Safety. Safe Space. Respect for our fellow human. We honor the system our country is run by but we are standing together to support Women,”
There is also a GoFundMe page which states that any financial donations will go to “rent space if there is a fee involved, pay for any legal services we may need in order to secure our permits and law enforcement support.”
The Women's March on Washington in San Diego is on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10 am.
