If you have any questions about service animals and your rights, this is the perfect time to ask.
For those of you who rely on service animals to get through your day, whether it be emotional or physical support, there are some guidelines and laws that you may not know about.
On Friday, September 15, 2017, the Library Room at The Center in Hillcrest will host a free program put forth by the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association, that will discuss and answer any questions you may have about service animals.
This one-hour seminar, "Legal Issues Over the Lifespan of Pet Ownership CLE*" will address everything from local laws to your rights as a service animal owner.
You should attend this meeting if you want to learn about the differences between Service Dogs, Emotional Support Animals, and Therapy dogs. In addition to specifying these delineations, you can also learn more about legal recourse and your rights both for your pet and yourself if they should ever be challenged.
The discussion will also include information about what to do if you and your partner separate or divorce or even death.
The presentation will be on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at The Center in Hillcrest (Library Room) at The San Diego LGBT Community Center.
The Center is located at 3909 Centre St, San Diego, CA 92103.
Check-in will start at 5:45 pm, with the program commencing at 6 pm.
Non-attorneys are invited to attend and attorneys will receive one-hour general CLE.
