You could be a part of one of the most well-known gay choruses in the world.
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC) wants to add more voices to their team; they are starting the audition process on August 25, 2018.
Being a singer in the SDGMC doesn't just mean entertaining thousands throughout the year in special concerts, your participation also helps bring awareness and support to some of San Diego's many LGBT causes including HIV/AIDS services.
The team assures that the audition process isn't uncomfortable, in fact, they like to make the whole thing as fun as possible.
But if you're not ready to perform on stage, you can also take on some important responsibilities behind the scenes as a volunteer.
Here is some important information about the process from the SDGMC website:
Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7 to 10 pm at the University Christian Church in Hillcrest. Free parking is available across the street at the Hillcrest DMV parking lot.
Dues are $75 for each four-month concert period for singing members. There are no dues for non-singing members. Singers are responsible for purchasing their own attire, including a tuxedo. Other expenses may include out of town events such as retreats, joint concerts, and festivals. However financial assistance is available, so please don’t let finances keep you from singing.
If you prefer to volunteer behind the scenes, please consider joining our Operations Team. No audition is required. You may volunteer at any time during the year by contacting our office manager Angela Kanish at (619) 432-2244. The Operations Team is vital to the success of the Chorus and helps during rehearsals, events and concert production.
