Top Fundraising Organization Will Earn $10,000 in Challenge Grant Funds
On Thursday, AIDS Walk & Run San Diego announced the 14 local HIV service organizations that will receive funding from this year’s event, set for Saturday, Sept. 29.
“One of the most exciting things about AIDS Walk & Run is that the event is also a fundraising opportunity for several of San Diego’s outstanding HIV service organizations,” said Ian Johnson, director of development for The San Diego LGBT Community Center. The Center produces AIDS Walk & Run San Diego.
The AIDS Walk 2018 funding recipients are:
Family Health Centers
North County LGBTQ Resource Center
San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program
San Diego Youth Services
San Ysidro Health Center
UCSD: The HIV Institute
UCSD Mother Child & Adolescent HIV Program
Vista Community Clinic
“This year, we’re pleased to announce that all funding recipient teams have a chance to receive up to $5,000 to match what they raise at AIDS Walk. In addition, thanks to an additional special challenge grant, the funding recipient team that raises the most money by Wednesday, October 10 will receive an extra $10,000 grant,” Johnson added. “I urge everyone to support the AIDS Walk teams of these important organizations as a walker or donor. They do such valuable work to serve the more 18,000 people living with HIV in San Diego and to help end HIV as we know it.”
