Mental health: Addressing San Diego’s not so silent epidemic

Spirit of the Barrio is on Friday, March 16 from 11:30 pm to 1 pm at the Logan Heights Family Health Center

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) will welcome a panel of health experts as they discuss the challenges with creating a large-scale integrated mental health system and how we can better serve the community in the face of these struggles.

PFLAG to award scholarships to San Diego LGBT students

Deadline to apply for the PFLAG scholarship is Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) have been important allies in the community for 45 years. With chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, they continue in their mission of inclusiveness of all spectrums of the LGBT community.

LGBT royalty from Canada, US, Mexico attend San Diego Coronation XLVI

At the end of the evening, the newly elected Monarchs were announced to a cheering crowd: Emperor Mark Newsome and Empress Barbie Z.

This past weekend, San Diego LGBT royalty was present at the International Court Council; the governing body of the Imperial Court System.

Presided over by Queen Mother of the Americas and San Diego’s six-time elected Empress, Nicole Murray Ramirez, the 46th Annual Coronation Ball was a sold out event.

SD Pride will march in 2018 MLK Parade

All are welcome to march with Pride, which will meet at the site at 1:30 pm.

SAN DIEGO (Jan. 10, 2018) – San Diego Pride is proud to participate in the San Diego MLK Parade, one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the United States, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The 38th annual parade is Sunday, January 14 and will march between Harbor Drive and Embarcadero. The parade will start at the San Diego County Admin Building on Harbor Drive at 2 pm.

Ben F. Dillingham III's personal military effects donated to Lambda Archives

A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Dillingham is set for Saturday, January 20 at St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral, 1 pm.

The late Ben F. Dillingham III, who was a decorated Marine captain and tank commander, had his uniforms, medals, dog tags, etc. presented to the Lambda Archives of San Diego by City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez last week. 

In November of 2017, Dillingham passed away from cancer at age 72.
