Project Overview:

Pence to speak at anti-LGBT extremists event on Saturday

The event’s sponsors include the American Conservative Union, the NRA, the SPLC-designated hate group Family Research Council, and the John Birch Society.

Vice President Mike Pence is speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. He will join numerous anti-LGBTQ extremists, including Elizabeth Johnston, Dr. Paul McHugh, and Dr. Sebastian “Seb” Gorka, all known for their extremist advocacy against LGBTQ people.

Why can’t puppets Bert and Ernie be gay?

"Sesame Street" has a long history of teaching children about diversity and acceptance; so, why should the issues impacting our LGBTQ children be excluded?

"Sesame Street’s" most famous duo Bert and Ernie first appeared in 1969, the same year as the Stonewall Riots, which to the nation’s surprise catapulted the LGBTQ Liberation Movement. And at that time, the idea of partnering these two lovable striped-sweater-wearing puppets as gay was as inconceivable as the idea of legalized same-sex marriage.

Is the Catholic church unsalvageable?

The question not asked by the church’s governing body is why does sexual abuse persist as it does among its clerics?

Catholic Bay Staters highly respect Cardinal Sean O'Malley. He’s viewed by many as a no-holds-barred cardinal when it comes to addressing clergy sex abuse.

In a 2014 interview with “America,” the Jesuit Review, O’Malley spoke out about the problem.

In blatant violation of state law, Caltrans work crew caught stopping traffic to distribute campaign fliers opposed to Prop 6 Gas Tax Repeal initiative

Caltrans work crew caught stopping traffic to distribute campaign fliers opposed to Prop 6 gas tax repeal initiative

California state law expressly prohibits the use of taxpayer money to engage in a political campaign, but that’s exactly what happened on a busy California highway this week when a Caltrans work crew being paid taxpayer funds to work on a road project decided to use the project traffic calming process to stop traffic and hand out “No on Prop 6” campaign fliers. Traffic was delayed 18-24 minutes

Does the GOP have a racist cut-off point?

The n-word is one of the most odious of words deriving from this country’s original sin of slavery.

Since his first year in office, Trump’s displays of xenophobic, misogynistic, LGBTQ-phobic, and racist remarks (to name just a few from his laundry list of bigotries) appear to have no cutoff point.

The Republican Party under Trump doesn’t seem to have one, either.
