Christians like U. S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions like to smugly recite biblical scripture to promulgate their self-righteous acts of discrimination. In defending Trump’s indefensible policy of separating children from their families-even a child while being breastfed - Sessions cited a passage from Apostle Paul’s epistle to the Romans: 

Eddie Reynoso is well known in the San Diego LGBT community, he’s the CEO of the award-winning San Diego LGBT Visitor's Center funded by the Southern California Equality Business Alliance (SCEBA) a coalition of “businesses and pro-business organizations” that launched in 2015. This non-profit helps LGBT friendly businesses in San Diego reach LGBT travelers, a $1.2 billion annual market.

In partnership with the Department of State and the San Diego Diplomacy Council, San Diego Pride will be hosting “Pride World Forum” where LGBTQI leaders from around the world will discuss issues facing our community in their respective countries.

Pride World Forum will be held during Pride weekend at the San Diego History Center located in Balboa Park on July 15 from 11 am to noon.

The Supreme Court ruled in "Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission” in favor of Jack Phillips, the baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple-Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig-on the grounds of religious freedom. In a 7-2 decision, the Justices argued that the commission had exhibited hostility toward religion in its treatment of Phillips’s case.

In the wake of the Supreme Court of the United States' narrow ruling in favor of Colorado baker Jack Phillips, San Diego Pride released the following statement:

I like to say there was something in the air why Pride 2017- here and abroad- was one of the most contentious events in its history. Many, however, in our LGBTQ communities say the tension was always present. 

San Diego Pride kicks off Pride weekend with the Spirit of Stonewall Rally featuring the first transgender state legislator, Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, as the keynote speaker. 

The rally honors and recognizes LGBTQ leaders at the forefront of the movement for their activism, leadership, and philanthropy.

Dovie Yoana King is a San Diego native and an award-winning lawyer who has put a lot of time and sweat into her career by supporting candidates who advocate for equal rights LGBTQ equality, the working poor, immigrants, people of color and survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

Once again Pope Francis is rocking the world.

As the country celebrates Harvey Milk Day today, the San Diego LGBT community can be proud to live in a city where he is celebrated and remembered, perhaps more than other place on the map.
