Fletcher represents all of D3 at County level and wants Whitburn as a partner at City Hill.
San Diego, CA – Supervisor Nathan Fletcher joins the police, health care workers, the San Diego County Democratic Party, and over 100 community leaders in asking voters to elect non-profit and long-time community leader Stephen Whitburn to the San Diego City Council, District 3.
Since Fletcher’s landslide victory in 2018, he currently represents the entirety of the City of San Diego’s District 3 on the County Board of Supervisors.
Fletcher knows the neighborhoods and issues and trusts Whitburn to lead as a partner in City Hall.
In endorsing Whitburn, Fletcher stated, "Stephen Whitburn is the champion we need at City Hall.
His decades of experience and leadership have prepared him for the challenges our city is facing. Stephen is the partner I need to help address our housing and homelessness crisis and combat climate change in our region. I fully support Stephen Whitburn for San Diego City Council."
With nearly 20 years in the district, Labor groups, Democratic organizations, and community leaders agree that Whitburn is the right choice to lead on housing, homelessness, infrastructure, and environmental protections.
That’s why progressive champions such as Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, former State Senator Dede Alpert, and former City Councilmember Donna Frye also back Whitburn.
Fletcher’s endorsement comes at a critical time, just two weeks before permanent absentee voters begin to vote ahead of the moved-up March 3 primary which will decide which two candidates advance to the November general election.
