SAN DIEGO – Candye Kane and Charlie Imes will perform a benefit concert for the “Tracy Emblem for Congress” campaign.
The fundraiser will be from 6:30 to 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Tango Del Rey, 3567 Del Rey St., in San Diego.
Cocktails will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at a no-host bar.
The Charlie Imes Band will perform from 8 to 8:45 p.m. Imes is a singer-songwriter from Del Mar, and his band has a new CD, “On An Island.” The band’s music blends pop, jazz, folk, rock and other genres.
Emblem will speak at the end of the band’s set.
Candye Kane will perform from 9 to 10:15 p.m. The singer-songwriter is best known for the blues and jazz, and has appeared with country music stars Lucinda Williams and Dwight Yoakam. She won top honors for Best Blues CD of 2005 at the San Diego Music Awards.
Kane often appears at gay pride events and describes herself as bisexual. She is a retired adult model-actress.
