SAN DIEGO -- The holiday season is in full swing and it wouldn't be complete without seeing Diversionary Theatre's "Scrooge In Rouge" - Ricky Graham's take on Charles Dickens' holiday classic "A Christmas Carol." The show opens tonight and runs through Dec. 30.
"Scrooge In Rouge" is a quick-change, cross-dressing version of the Dickens classic, set in a Victorian music hall where three actors play 23 roles. This fun holiday show is full of entertainment, rousing popular songs, comedy and specialty acts.
The show spills off the stage before and after the performance as Diversionary invites San Diegans to ditch their boring office parties and celebrate with four of the campiest British Music Hall performers you'll ever meet. Drinks are encouraged (wee ones aren't) at this offbeat San Diego Christmas tradition.
The cast and creative team includes writer Ricky Graham, Jacque Wilke, Tony Houck, Stewart Calhoun and Ricky Schaffer.
A number of special theme nights have also been played, to make the holiday show experience even more enjoyable for patrons, including:
Ho Ho, (You) Ho: Friday, Dec. 14

End of the World Party: Friday, Dec. 21
