Jim Winsor’s Out & About: Sweet Brown to host GFAB WTF on Saturday at Rich’s

This Saturday, SDPIX will present GFAB WTF at Rich's, with DJ Nikno and DJ Taj in the main room, and DJ Vaughn Avakian in the front room.

The special guest host is none other than YouTube sensation Sweet Brown (”ain’t nobody got time for that!”):

As you know, WTF parties at Rich's are one of the most popular (and crazy!) nights on the club calendar, and the madness lasts into after hours until 4 am. I think we have time for that!

Check out the video that made Sweet Brown famous below.

Pump’d at 1202

Also this Saturday, you won’t want to miss the very first Pump’d at 1202, brought to you by local promoter Shaun Flak. The event promises "a musical journey with DJ Tristan Jaxx while watching hot men work out on boxes," "$5 cocktails until midnight" and an opening set by DJ Marcel.

Tristan kindly agreed to an interview with me last week. It turns out he himself is a promoter of some repute, being the creator of Chaos, a highly successful monthly dance party in San Francisco. So I have high hopes for this event! I’m sure we’ll see much more creative energy from this new team in coming months.

SDGMC Bachelor Action at Flicks

Another not-to-miss event is the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus Bachelor Auction at Flicks this Sunday, starting at 4 pm. You can check out some of the hot chorus boys up for bid here and here.

Carly Rae Jepsen to perform at White Party Palm Springs

Rumors of additional talent being added to the White Party Palm Springs roster came true this week, as mega hit "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen was booked to sing at the Sunday Tea Dance. This follows on the heels of her announcement that she was canceling an appearance at the Boy Scouts annual Jamboree, because of their ban on gays.

And that’s not all. It was just announced yesterday that Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis is celebrating his 40th birthday party at the Sunday T-Dance, and he’s bringing along three of his close friends, namely all three Kardashian sisters. And we know how wild those girls can go, so this year’s T-Dance looks to be an interesting one indeed.

2013 Atlantis LA to Mexico Cruise goes on sale

Cabins for the 2013 Atlantis LA to Mexico Cruise just went on sale to the general public this week. As many of you know, last year’s Halloween in Mexico cruise was a huge hit, and sold out about a month prior to departure (as I warned you all it would). So, you may want to consider booking early again this year, particularly as the cruise will be on a slightly smaller ship (the Carnival Miracle).

Prices once again on this cruise are vastly lower than any other Atlantis cruise, with prices beginning at only $699 a person!

Last week’s events

We here at SDPIX were busy busy busy last week! Be sure and check out all the new albums, including photos from Repent at Rich’s, Manic Monday at the Brass Rail, Wet at Bourbon Street, Birthday Night at Babycakes, the Green Party at 1202, and St. Patrick’s Day at Flicks and #1 Fifth Avenue. Happy viewing!
