Food Network's Guy Fieri visits Crest Cafe in Hillcrest to tape his show

SAN DIEGO -- Crest Cafe - the iconic Hillcrest restaurant known for its hearty, healthy comfort food - had a very special visitor on Wednesday. Guy Fieri came to the restaurant with his camera crew to film an episode of his popular Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Crest Cafe, situated in a pink building on Robinson Avenue between Fourth and Fifth avenues, is a family-owned restaurant, run by Cecelia Moreno. The diner was selected to be on the show after numerous customers and staff wrote in to tell Food Network why Crest Cafe should be featured.

While film crews spent many hours in the restaurant getting shots of the staff, food and kitchen, Fieri visited the restaurant on Wednesday morning for about an hour to film interviews with some of the restaurant's most regular customers as well as Moreno and her staff.

The episode will air sometime in the fall.
