Summer officially begins on Friday, and there's no better sign of this than the first Guys Like Us (GLU) Pool Party of 2013, coming up July 6 at a private estate in Mission Hills.
The GLU pool parties are some of the better ones on the local pool party calendar. You can view photos from some of the previous events here. Fundraisers for their AIDS Walk team, they’ve raised thousands of dollars for the cause over the years.
Advance tickets can be purchased on the GLU website. And by the way, this is only the first GLU Pool Party of the year ... there’s usually another big one scheduled in August.
Firestorm Date Auction Fundraiser at Flicks
Have you ever dreamed about going on a date with well-known local hotties like John Joseph, David Pence, Kyle Matthews and Kenneth Imutan? Duh, who hasn’t! Anyways, here’s your big chance: The Firestorm softball team will be having a date auction at Flicks this Friday, starting at 8:30pm. They’ll be auctioning off some of San Diego's hottest softball players to raise money for their trip to Seattle for the Emerald City Classic.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle, Jell-O shots on sale, and an iPad raffle; each ticket is $10 or 3 for $20. Plus there will be an auction of tickets to the Adam Lambert concert at the Del Mar Fair on July 2, which will be the Unofficial Gay Day at the fair.
White Trash Prom at Baja Betty’s
Baja Betty’s will be having their 8th annual White Trash Prom this Saturday.
For those of you out there who have yet to experience this rather colorful event, the theme is to come dressed as hillbillies on prom night: tuxedos and overalls, maternity prom dresses, and the like. Remember, the higher the hair, the closer to heaven!
Pump’d at 1202
Also this Saturday, you won’t want to miss Pump’d at 1202, brought to you by local promoter Shaun Flak. The event will once again be a musical journey with DJ Tristan Jaxx, while watching hot men work out on boxes. Plus there’ll be $5 shot specials all night long.
Hale Storm coming on Saturday night
If you're out and about on Saturday night (June 22) look for the Hale Media/SDPIX team who will be out on the first "Hale Storm." A sea of people in SDPIX T-shirts will be hopping around the 'hood to various venues celebrating the start of summer and promoting the brand. Our fearless leader, Johnathan Hale, will be out with the team, too, hence the name "Hale Storm." Say hello if you see us out and about!
