SAN DIEGO – Jai Rodriguez, who is starring in San Diego Rep’s “In The Heights” through Aug. 25, will be performing his acclaimed one-man show on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
His “Dirty Little Secrets” cabaret act is for adults only. During an interview with San Diego Gay & Lesbian News, Rodriguez promised that “no one is safe!”
Not only will Rodriguez sing some of his favorite songs and dance, he will also talk about his his ex-boyfriends, having sex with girls before he came out, his first sexual experience with guys, the loves of his life, lessons learned, and all sorts of juicy topics.
“It’s an evening that’s half singing and dancing and half stand-up that shows that sometimes, the road to our own personal truth is through our most shame-filled moments,” Rodriguez said.
The cabaret act got a great review in the Miami Herald:
“Yet for all of its dramatic and sometimes-sobering shadings, ‘Dirty Little Secrets’ is upbeat, empowering and entertaining. In large part, that’s because of Rodriguez’s warm stage presence and the songs he and the others sing, a mixture of meaningful show tunes and pop hits.”
The Emmy Award winning actor is known for his roles in “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy,” “Rent” and “Malibu County.”
Purchase tickets for “Dirty Little Secrets” cost $25 HERE. The show starts at 7 pm Tuesday, Aug. 20 on the Lyceum Stage at San Diego Repertory Theatre at the Horton Plaza downtown.
