Jim Winsor's Out & About: WTF Hillcrest Hillbillies

Break out those daisy dukes, because this Saturday SDPIX and Rich's are bringing you a special Hillcrest Hillbillies edition of WTF Massive.

As you can imagine, this WTF event could be one the most crazy ones yet.

It’s the long Labor Day holiday weekend, so expect a packed house for this event, even with the outdoor dance floor area with full bars opened up. I’d plan on getting there early to avoid the line. Since it’s a Massive party, there will be after hours until 4 am, with music by DJ Taj, DJ Nikno, and DJ Vaughn Avakain.

SDPIX VIP members will receive front of the line privileges and $5 off cover before 11 pm. Those who do not have a VIP sticker can text SDPIX to 313131 to receive $5 off before 11 pm. Plus, SDPIX staff will be on hand throughout the night giving out free VIP memberships.

Pokeball at Numbers

On Friday, get ready for Pokeball at Numbers, a gay Pokémon-themed event brought to you by TIGZNPOOH (Carlito Peralta Jr and Erny Castro) and Ned Cato Jr. of Geek Night Productions:

“Prepare to get your POKEMON ON! We are going to transform NUM3ERS into a place straight out of the World of POKEMON. Join POKEMON TRAINERS CARLITO PERALTA JR. (TEAM ASH) and MANNTAR (TEAM ROCKET) for a great event! Come party with us hard Pokémon themed outfits strongly encouraged! DJ MARCEL (SPOT ON PRODUCTIONS) will spin EDM, POP....MAYBE A LITTLE J-POP! GOGO POKEMON, POKEMON VIDEO GAMES, and LOTZ of POKEMON THEMED FUN!”

Pokemon themed outfits are highly encouraged; in fact, there will be drink specials and discounts for those there in costumes.

A special thanks

And speaking of that last event, I want to thank everyone who nominated and voted for me for my very first Nicky Award! I won the category for Outstanding Writer/Columnist. This was both unexpected and gratifying … it’s great to know people are actually reading this! And congratulations to all the other well-deserved winners, of which can view the complete list here.
