"RuPaul's Drag Race" star Sonique Kylie Love to guest host WET on Thursday | VIDEO

SAN DIEGO -- Sonique Kylie Love of "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 2 fame will be the guest host of SDPIX's WET contest at Bourbon Street on Thursday night, Nov. 7.

Known by most as Sonique, she participated on the show in 2009 as a drag performer but began to transition from male to female shortly after taping. She came out as a transgender individual on the Season 2 reunion episode, but has carried on her drag legacy by continuing to perform in nightclubs wearing drag clothing in her new female body.

Sonique regularly performs as part of The Dreamgirls Revue, which has shows at venues throughout Southern California. She has also appeared on several TV shows including "Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best," "The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 3," "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," and others, and was also in Zac Dugan's music video "Are You a Model?."

Each Thursday, the crowds flock to Bourbon Street for the WET contest, which includes underwear clad men (and sometimes women) who compete for more than $500 in cash and prizes. Winners are chosen by audience response.

Sonique will be on hand throughout the night to meet and socialize with bar customers, host the show and perform. She will be heading to Bourbon Street following an afternoon performance at San Diego State University's Big Gay BBQ.

The event will also include music, dancing and drink specials including half-priced SVEDKA vodka cocktails all night long, as well as $3 shot specials and $2 off all drinks from midnight to closing.

The fun starts at 10 pm, and the WET contest will take place around 11:30 pm. There is no cover charge.

Bourbon Street is located at 4612 Park Blvd. in University Heights.
