SDPIX is inviting you to Rich’s Nightclub on Saturday night to help them celebrate their fourteenth year online and tenth year in print.

Developed in 2002 by Johnathan Hale, SDPIX is the quintessential Hillcrest event guide that not only features the best parties and events, but also gives the community a visual keepsake of fun nights with friends.

Earlier this month the social monthly unveiled a whole new look by Shane Fabila who said he was inspired by contemporary editorial design for his update.

“The magazine celebrates the gay community in many ways, and I am truly honored to have contributed to its tenth anniversary issue,” Fabila said.

Benny Cartwright is a part of the SDPIX Street Team and says, “I've enjoyed reading and being a part of SDPIX magazine since its beginning in 2006, and it's amazing to see how popular the magazine continues to be!”

The anniversary party starts at Rich’s Nightclub on Saturday, July 30, with hosted champagne and cake from 10 pm to 11 pm.

DJ Taj will be in the main room, with DJ K-Swift in the front.

Special guest David Hernandez (pictured above) of American Idol season seven fame, will take to the stage, singing his new single “Beautiful” along with a few of his other fan favorites.

Hernandez tells SDGLN he is excited to share his new single with San Diego because it’s a personal song about self-acceptance, and appreciation.

“I wanted to get this song, this message out there is lieu of everything happening in the world,” Hernandez said. “Just give a positive sort of spin on this crazy world we live in.”

SDPIX wouldn’t be what it is without the pictures, and photographer Cali Griebel says when she takes photos at events she tries to capture special moments, “…it's more than just taking a photo for the evening... it's documenting history that people will look back on decades from now.”

As SDPIX heads into its fifteenth year, it remains one of the most recognized magazines in Hillcrest.

“SDPIX is the gold standard for high-end, high-fun, high-fashion publications,” said Bob Lehman, Executive Director of The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus, “You can't help but pick up a copy every time you see it.”

SDPIX will celebrate its 14th anniversary at Rich’s Nightclub on Saturday, July 30, with hosted champagne and cake served between 10 pm and 11 pm.

The party will continue until Sunday morning at 2 am with music from DJ Taj and DJ K-Swift.

SDPIX VIP members get $5 off cover before 11 pm or text SDPIX to 46786 for $5 off cover before 11 pm.
