Rare drag performance of Mayor of Hillcrest and Queen Mother on video

This past weekend the Imperial Court de San Diego celebrated its 45th coronation ceremony, crowning a new emperor and empress, but there was also a special and rare treat at the celebration that drew a standing ovation.

The Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley was packed with royal philanthropists who surrounded themselves with people of high social rank on Saturday.

The biggest announcement of the evening was that of the formation of a civil rights arm of the Imperial Court system, called the “National GLBT Network USA.”

However, in an especially rare gift, Queen Mother Nicole, nee City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez, took to the stage to perform Bette Midler’s “The Wind Beneath My Wings.”

This was the first time in over 15 years Nicole has performed in front of an audience. And it was beautiful.

Her lip-sync presentation raised over $2,000 to be donated to the civil rights arm of the court.

When it was over, people gave the LGBT activist a standing ovation.

The International Imperial Court System donates their time and money to various charities throughout the country. Last year they raised $90,000.
