Today is International Women’s Day and McDonald's is putting a twist in its logo.
McDonald's is turning its famous golden arches upside down in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8.
The company’s Chief Diversity Officer Wendy Lewis said the flip is, "in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere.”
Only the physical location in Lynwood, California will actually turn the “M” to a “W” on its signpost, but digital and social media platforms will invert the iconic monogram.
Over 100 locations will participate in the tribute with special uniforms and hats with the golden “W.”
"We have a long history of supporting women in the workplace," the company said in a statement. "From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels, and together with our independent franchise owners, we're committed to their success."
