One of the world's biggest up-and-coming actors caused a loud buzz on social media in October after he posted something that many thought alluded to his sexuality.

The handsome Kingsman actor Taron Egerton uploaded a candid snapshot on his Instagram page of a young man, captioning it “Cutie. My boy [heart emoji]."

Immediately publications picked up on the story and questioned what Egerton was implying. In fact, a few of his followers asked him about the unidentified man to which Egerton responded, “nah, he’s mine and mine only.”

This bit of speculation comes before he is to appear as the out pop icon Elton John in the biopic Rocketman hitting theaters in 2019

But Egerton has finally cleared up any rumors in an interview with UK's Radio One, according to Metro.

While speaking to the program about the recent break up with his girlfriend he confirmed that he is not gay and revealed who the man in the picture really is.

"One of the lads was at my London flat and I Insta-grammed a picture of him and said, 'Look at this cutie,' and a million outlets reported I was coming out as gay," said the celebrity. "I’m not gay but two of my mates came out when I was 15 and it was a joy to support them because, as a group, we are all secure in who we are."

The 29-year-old says he will still refer to his friends affectionately.

"I’m certainly not going to stop calling my mates cuties and gorgeous, because they are cuties and they are gorgeous."

The actor is on the promo circuit for his latest film Robin Hood which opens on November, 20.
