The company embraces diversity in latest commercial.
David's Bridal has released an ad that for the first time features a lesbian couple.
In fact, the wedding gown company put couples of all types in their latest commercial, including one with a baby.
The company, based in Pennsylvania, has seen a downswing in sales; enough that they filed for bankruptcy last year, according to Ad Age.
This latest advert is titled "Rewrite the Rules" and focuses less on the big day's apparel choices and more on the diversity of the couples tying the knot.
"We wanted to make sure this spot represented what we see from brides today," Liz Crystal, David’s Bridal’s chief marketing officer told Ad Age. "We value every type of bride."
David's Bridal is one of many companies who are embracing the LGBT community, tapping into that market for the retail dollar.
AT&T featured a gay couple in one of its ads during the Golden Globes over the weekend and every year more and more big companies such as Target stock the shelves with Pride merchandise.
David Bridal's 30-second spot will air in TV spots and will appear on social media according to The Advocate.
