The updated version still has an 80s zest, but isn't sour even for 2019.
Tiffany released an updated version to her megahit "I Think We're Alone Now" back in late April, and it was so low-key you may have missed it.
Back in the 80s, you were either Team Tiffany or Team Debbie Gibson. Although the latter seemed to experience some longevity on the Billboard dance charts, the former dominated the teen radio dial with her cover of "I Think We're Alone Now" in 1987.
Both Tiffany and Gibson were precursors to the Disney machine which saw many former Mickey Mouse Club members turn into dance club icons seemingly overnight in the 90s.
Tiffany, now 47, is still going strong as a member of international pop culture. She appeared on the UK version of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here" and released her tenth album titled "Pieces of Me" in late 2018.
This latest incarnation of the song is still very danceable and carries an air of 80s synth, but has upped its BPMs complete with guitar solo and a rock-infused rhythmic arrangement.
This updated earworm is just as catchy as it was over three decades ago.
