This over the top drag pageant that raises funds for The Center is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16!
(Editor's note: "Tantrums and Tiaras: Battle of the Bar Queens 2020" returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Observatory North Park. The show is an over-the-top drag competition where representatives from some of the community’s bars with little or no drag experience compete for the crown. The event benefits the programs of The San Diego LGBT Community Center. Leading up to the event, we will profile the six contestants, but you'll have to buy tickets and go the show to find out their drag name and see them in full make-up! More information and tickets can be purchased HERE. View the other contestants we've profiled this year HERE.)
Contestant Name: Paul Zaldivar
Age: 26, believe it or not!
Bar Representing: Flicks
Tell us a bit more about yourself.
Born and raised in Texas, I moved to San Diego in 2016. I live in the heart of Hillcrest and enjoy a cocktail every now and then.
First time in drag?
I dressed in drag for Halloween when I was younger, but this will be my first time in ACTUAL drag.
What are you most excited about?
Getting out of drag when it's over, those heels hurt!
What are you most nervous about?
Making my momma proud. She's flying out just to see the show. It will be her first time in California!
Why are YOU going to win Tantrums & Tiaras?
Because I have charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent!
This is an amazing charity and I am happy to say that I'm a part of something much larger than I am. Honestly, I'm just happy to be here.
