Kenneth Paul Block professionally known as Ken Block was born in Long Beach, California, United States. Born on November 21, 1967, Ken started his national rallying career at the age of 38 in the year 2005. Being a recipient of several accolades, he has raced numerous races throughout his career. With his hard work and effort, he became the first-ever American driver to drive for the World Rally Championship. 

Earlier this week, it has been an unpleasant start with the news of the death of the pro-rally driver Ken Block. It was on Monday, the world got to know about the unexpected death of the American professional rally driver.

Hoonigan announced the news through their social media accounts. It was declared that the 55-year-old rally driver was deceased after collapsing into a snowmobile accident. The incident that resulted in the death of this rallying genius happened on his ranch in Woodland, Utah, on January 2, 2023.

As per the officials, it is said that Ken was riding with some of his friends but was alone when the incident happened.

While riding near the Mill Hollow area, his automobile got tipped over and landed above him. Primarily, it was said that he lost his life from the injuries of the accident.    

Hoonigan Industries, a clothing brand for auto lovers which is co-owned by Ken, is the one who announced to the world this great loss. They even expressed their greatest concerns for the family and friends on the great loss.

Besides being a racer, Ken was also a popular YouTuber and entrepreneur who co-founded DC Shoes, which was later sold to concentrate more on the development of Hoonigan Industries. 

Although it took 38 years for the great racer to attain his dreams, he was so much passionate about cars and racing right from a young age. He is also so much into skateboarding and even participated in local skating competitions.

He began his career as a racer driving for the Vermont SportsCar team with a customized 2005 Subaru WRX STi. The next year he along with his co-driver completed second in the 2006 Rally America National Championship.

The racer is even known for his popularity as a YouTuber. He started a youtube series called Gymkhana showcasing the champion’s drifting and racing skills. The show features custom-built rally cars, treacherous tracks, obstacle-filled paths, etc.

After the confirmation of the racing king’s death, his family including his wife and three children came out to thank all those who showered their condolences on Ken’s death. Lia Block, the eldest of Block’s three daughters, quoted that she not only lost her father but also lost a best friend of hers.

She opened up about how much she meant to her and even said that he supported all her decisions. His sudden death was not only shocking for the family but even for the whole of racing fans around the globe.
