Lady Gaga Makeup-Free Performance Stunned Everyone At Oscars 2023
Even by Lady Gaga’s lowly standards, her performance at the Academy Awards in 2023 was somewhat unremarkable.
To perform her nominated song “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” the pop singer appeared at the ceremony on Sunday night wearing nothing more than a plain black T-shirt, tattered trousers, and a pair of Converse. In addition, it appeared that she had not applied any makeup.
Gaga, who is 36 years old, had a very different appearance for her performance compared to the images taken on the red carpet. For the red carpet photos, she had a full face of glitter and a Versace dress that was fresh off the runway.

Gaga delivered this stripped-down rendition of the song, which was nominated for Best Original Song along with “Applause” by Diane Warren, “Lift Me Up” by Rihanna, “Naatu Naatu” by Kaala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani, and Rahul Sipligunj, and “Life Is a Life” by Son Lux. “Life Is a Life” by Son Lux was also nominated for the award.
A great number of people on Twitter voiced their gratitude for the intimate performance. One commentator’s take on Lady Gaga’s performance was as follows: “Everyone expected a massive production but Lady Gaga has once again proved that all she needs to stand out is her talent.” The flash and glamour were stripped away from the concert, and all that was left was her voice and a small crowd.
The natural and carefree way in which Gaga appeared stood in stark contrast to the high-glamour attire she wore on the red carpet. She wore a Versace gown that was a show-stopper during the event, which had previously been seen on supermodel Gigi Hadid at the Fall/Winter 2023 runway show in Los Angeles, which took place just before the ceremony.

The dress featured mesh long sleeves and a corset bodice that flowed into a voluminous, low-waisted skirt that displayed her derriere. The skirt was also quite low-waisted.
She accessorized her appearance with a diamond choker, red lip gloss, and smoky eye makeup, and she wore her hair in an updo.
