Born in Canada, Emilie relocated to Russia in order to train with Russian rhythmic gymnasts and coaches. She has won three Canadian rhythmic gymnastics titles and competed for her country at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. Apart from participation, she has also won a gold medal in the competition for individual all-around.
