A good workout regimen and healthy diet helped him reach his goals.
You may remember Kevin McHale who played the awkward teen Artie Abrams in the musical TV series "Glee," but it looks like McHale has been working overtime at the gym to shed some weight and gain some muscle with regimen he tells US Weekly.
“I had been working through an intestine and digestion issue that was eluding diagnosis and that really took a toll on me,” the 30-year-old told Us. “I was constantly in pain. I had tried so many different elimination diets—nothing was working. It got to the point where I was already feeling miserable because of the intestinal issues, plus the self-added guilt of not getting myself to the gym or eating as healthy as possible. It was a recipe for disaster.”
And the results are extraordinary as seen in his before and after pictures. He says he began a workout routine with a personal training studio in Los Angeles called Ultimate Performance.
But healthy food and a strong workout program go hand-in-hand, and he says he committed himself to following a strict diet of complex carbs, healthy fats, vegetables, and protein.
“I became obsessed with logging my food,” he said. “I’d also be rating my energy, sleep, and digestion each day. Knowing if I had a proper night’s sleep would directly correlate with how I was training and eating obviously, but when you track it for three months you can see trends and patterns—I loved it.”
