Women's off-road Rebelle Rally races into San Diego

The all women's Rebelle Rally challenge is heading into San Diego for its final stop.

According to the website, the competition is, "Blending the love of driving with the ultimate challenge of precise navigation, the Rebelle tests your skills over eight days of competition. It is not a race for speed, but a unique and demanding event based on the elements of headings, hidden checkpoints, time, and distance using maps, compass, and roadbook."

The public awards ceremony for the Rebelle Rally, currently underway in its third straight year, will take place this Saturday, October 20, from to noon to 2 pm, at Lane Field Park in San Diego.

The Rebelle Rally is the first women's off-road rally navigation raid in the United States and is making its way from the Lake Tahoe area to Glamis. There are 50 teams competing, and 7 of the women are from San Diego.
