Victim believes attack to be a hate crime
(SAN DIEGO) – According to a report by 10News, a local gay man was attacked outside Baja Betty’s in Hillcrest. The victim believes the attack to be a hate crime.
At approximately 10 p.m. last night, San Diego resident Bronti Kelly was walking past the popular Hillcrest restaurant when he was attacked from behind. The perpetrator hit him into the back of the head, knocked him to the ground, and beat him unconscious. Kelly was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed with a concussion. Four of his upper front teeth were knocked out and a laceration on his forehead required 18 stitches.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male in his early 30’s with short hair and a tattoo on his left shoulder. At this time, no arrests have been made.
