(SAN DIEGO) The San Diego LGBT Community Center today announced that Wells Fargo has donated $50,000 to fund direct support and services – among them the more than 40 community programs The Center provides.
“Wells Fargo is proud of our long time relationship with The San Diego LGBT Community Center,” said Dean Thorp, Wells Fargo Senior Vice President. “We are delighted to be able to support the local community through continued funding of the vital programs and services The Center provides.”
Wells Fargo has a proud history of supporting community-development projects for affordable housing, schools, economic development, community revitalization and job creation. Their commitment to work together with community organizations for increased economic prosperity starts where it counts the most, locally. One of America’s largest financial contributors to nonprofits, Wells Fargo has given $200 million in grants in 2009. This latest generous donation will make a measurable difference in the lives of the 36,000 community members The Center serves annually.
“We are grateful to Wells Fargo for their continuing generosity to The Center,” said Center development director Jeffrey Wergeles. “We couldn’t be happier about their latest commitment, which will provide needed funding for programs and services that help to ensure the well-being of the San Diego community.”
