Ugandan activist Frank Mugisha cancels San Diego visit

SAN DIEGO – Ugandan activist Frank Mugisha of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) tells local organizers that he will be unable to travel to San Diego next month for an appearance previously announced by SDGLN.

Mugisha informed the Rev. Canon Albert Ogle and supporters of the St. Paul’s Foundation for International Reconciliation that his doctors are treating him for anxiety attacks that make a long flight to San Diego too stressful.

The activist from perhaps the most homophobic nation on Earth has been under extreme duress since his co-worker and friend David Kato was murdered in Kampala.

Mugisha was scheduled to appear at a cocktail reception on Tuesday, April 5, at the Park Manor Hotel in Hillcrest. That event is canceled.
