SAN DIEGO -- The Hillcrest Town Council has a full agenda planned for its meeting tonight, including a presentation by San Diego City Council President Todd Gloria.
Community members and others gathered at the meeting will hear a presentation from Gloria on community issues, and will also be given the opportunity to ask questions of him. Gloria is currently in his second term on the City Council and has represented the area for five years.
Representatives from other local government offices will also be present and available to hear feedback and take questions from the audience.
Other discussion items include a presentation on the building located at 801 University Ave. The historic structure, which has recently served as a second-hand store, has something in its future, according to the Hillcrest History Guild. Representatives from the organization will give a presentation about what might be next for this building.
(Those who aren't able to attend tonight's meeting have been treated to a preview of the presentation, from the Hillcrest Town Council's website: A sneak preview: a restaurant below, and apartments above.)
A representative from the online daily news site Voice of San Diego will also be present to discuss the annual "Politifest," an annual community festival focused on civic engagement. SDGLN is a media participant in Politifest.
The meeting begins at 6:30 pm in the Joyce Beers Community Center and is open to the public.
