FilmOut San Diego presenting popular pick “9 to 5” | VIDEO
SAN DIEGO – Responding to popular demand, FilmOut San Diego this week will present the “9 to 5” comedy, directed by Colin Higgins and starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton and Dabney Coleman.
The monthly screening will be at 7 pm Wednesday, Dec. 4, at historic Birch North Park Theatre. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased HERE or at the box office.
“9 to 5” ranked high on the list of movies desired by FilmOut fans as chosen in an audience survey earlier this year. The title song earned an Oscar nomination for Dolly Parton as Best Music, Original Song.
FilmOut provided the following description of the 1980 comedy:
Clock in for one of the most successful comedies ever made. Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin. Dolly Parton & Dabney Coleman star in this smash box office hit from 1980. Stuck in a dead-end job under a boss that she trained, Violet Newstead (Tomlin) is at her wit’s end. But when the boss’ good natured secretary (Parton) and a new hire (Fonda) decide that they’ve had enough, too, their revenge fantasy becomes hilarious reality in a scheme that spins wildly out of control! Full of classic scenes and one-liners, this film is incredible to see with an audience. Nonstop laughter will ensue!
