North Park residents asked to look out for each other after recent attacks

SAN DIEGO, California -- Residents of San Diego's neighborhoods of eastern North Park, western City Heights and southern Normal Heights are being asked by police and city officials to "Be Safe. Be Vigilant. Be a Good Neighbor" after a rash of late-night attacks on women.

At least five women have been attacked, and three of those crimes have occurred on Lincoln Street just west of 30th Street in North Park, a trendy neighborhood that has received national attention for its "hip" nightlife and restaurant scene.

San Diego City Council President Todd Gloria, who represents District 3, issued a "Mid-City Public Safety Alert" that is pictured below. The brochure included a sketch of a sexual assault suspect and how to report tips to authorities.
