The one-man show starring Todd Blakesley as Truman Capote is being staged through Dec. 21 at the theater in University Heights.
FilmOut San Diego provides the a description of "Murder By Death" below:
If you are a fan of CLUE, you will love MURDER BY DEATH! The world’s greatest detectives have been invited to dinner. But when murder is on the menu, who will make it to dessert? You are cordially invited to join an all-star cast featuring Eileen Brennan, James Coco, James Cromwell, Peter Falk, Alec Guinness, Elsa Lanchester, David Niven, Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith, Nancy Walker, and Estelle Winwood for Neil Simon’s hilarious murder mystery spoof. The isolated mansion of eccentric millionaire Lionel Twain (celebrated author Truman Capote in a Golden Globe-nominated performance) is the setting for the twisted puzzler. Twain informs his guests that one of them will be murdered at the stroke of midnight. The payoff: $1 million to whoever lives through the night. MURDER BY DEATH neatly lampoons both the mystery genre and the characterizations of these instantly recognizable gumshoes. Match wits with the super sleuths, but remember, you can’t win if you end up dying from laughter!
"Murder By Death" will be shown at 7 pm Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Landmark Hillcrest. FilmOut San Diego and Diversionary Theatre are co-presenting the movie.
The film is rated PG and runs for 94 minutes.
