Although we might not be living in a world which “Back to the Future II” predicted, there have certainly been advancements in electronic technology, and San Diego seems to be on the cutting edge of not only these innovative developments, but securing their place as one of America’s most environmentally friendly cities.
Over 170 people will attend today’s free event “Introduction to Electric Bikes” at San Diego Gas & Electric, Energy Innovation Center on Claremont Mesa Boulevard. Also in attendance will be upwards of 25 e-bike manufacturers.
Hosted by Turbo Bob (Bob Bandhauer), this gathering, lets the public get a hands-on example of what exactly these machines can do and how they can benefit users health-wise, environmentally and monetarily.
If you are a bike rider and take advantage of the hundreds of miles of trails in and around San Diego, or simply ride through the city streets to and from work, you may want to look into an electric bike.
However, there are certain questions that people might have before they dole out their dollars. For instance, what is the cost, how long does the charge last, are they good for going uphill?
The “Introduction to Electric Bikes” event will answer all of your questions about these two-wheeled e-movers and give guests the opportunity to try one out for themselves.
Be sure to bring your own helmet.
Call 800-644-6133 to reserve one of the limited spots available.
The “Introduction to Electric Bikes” event is on Tuesday, October 13, at San Diego Gas & Electric, Energy Innovation Center located at 4760 Claremont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA 92117
Check in and dinner begin at 5 pm to 6 pm.
Turbo Bob will speak to event goers about e-bikes from 6 pm to 7:15 pm and guests will be able to ride e-bikes and talk to vendors from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm.
