Hillcrest was the location of one armed robbery early Thursday morning, just 15 minutes before another one occurred in the Golden Hill area. The suspects are still on the loose reports CBS-8 News.
The first incident in Hillcrest occurred at La Posta De Acapulco's on Third Avenue near West Washington Street at approximately 4:30 am.
The thief held up the shop at gunpoint and absconded with an undetermined amount of cash, Officer Frank Cali said.
The San Diego Police Department is describing the criminal as Hispanic, in his early 20’s and wearing a blue and red hoodie, black bandana over his face and black gloves.
Only 15 minutes later did another gunman enter the 7-Eleven convenience store on Broadway at 24th Street and ran away with an undisclosed amount.
Police describe this suspect as being in his mid-20’s, Hispanic and about 5 feet 4. He was wearing a bright blue hoodie with a white letter “R” on the right chest area, a black beanie and white gloves.
No word yet if the two crimes are related.
