Hillcrest has a new addiction and recovery center.
Hillcrest has a new outpatient addiction and recovery (IOP) center. The 6,000 square foot facility is being operated by the Los Angeles-based Convalo Health International Group, and is located in the heart of the neighborhood.
The comfortable home-like setting includes lounges, a kitchen and rooms for group therapy, accommodating up to 60 patients.
The company would also like to extend its services in San Diego to include residential centers and behavioral health facilities which will welcome up to 18 patients.
“The population of the San Diego metropolitan area exceeds three million, and San Diego is also a desirable location for those seeking treatment away from home,” Convalo said in a statement on their website.
With an initial investment of $1 million going into the startup projects called “pods,” the company hopes that they will generate $10 to $15 million in annual earnings.
The Hillcrest location is the fourth out of a projected eight pods planned to open in 2016.
"We are pleased to be serving the San Diego community," said Stampp Corbin, CEO of Convalo. "We are investing heavily in local marketing and awareness to launch our center and expect the behavioral health detox facility accompanying the IOP to be signed on shortly. We anticipate being at optimal capacity within a year in San Diego and will continue to update the market of the significant milestones as we open pods across the United States.”
