Councilmember Gloria will step down this year; two candidates vie to replace him
One of big questions in San Diego during this election year is who will replace Todd Gloria in District Three?
On Thursday, April 28, the two candidates who hope to take over for Councilmember Gloria, Anthony Bernal and Chris Ward, will take part in a debate at Moniker Warehouse in the East Village.
The Five San Diego neighborhoods which comprise District Three: Hillcrest, The Gaslamp Quarter, East Village, Downtown Partnership and Mission Hills, will host the debate.
Moderated by NBC 7 anchor Gene Cubbison, The candidates are expected to discuss local concerns such as parking, transportation, homelessness, new development, empty storefronts, historic preservation and urban open spaces.
The event will be held at the Moniker Warehouse in the Snowflake Building at 705 16th Street in the East Village.
Doors will open at 5:45 pm and the debate will begin at 6 pm. Beer and wine will be available.
All proceeds for the event will go towards funding small business districts through the Business Improvement District Foundation.
