Police and the Bomb Squad were called in to investigate an explosion at a Target in Evanston, Illinois.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a small bomb was detonated inside a Target restroom in Evanston Ill., on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have taken a 44-year-old woman into custody, but have no evidence that the explosion was related to any of Target’s transgender bathroom policies.
A press release issued by the police department says, "The detectives are not currently looking for any known additional suspects and (at) this point there is no indication that the incident is related to any policies that the Target store has in place.”
Evanston Police Commander Joseph Dugan said that an employee called the station just after 4 pm on Wednesday, reporting that an explosion was heard coming from the bathrooms located near the front of the store.
Police found a plastic bottle in the restroom, which may have been used as the explosive device.
There were no injuries reported after the incident, and the store remained open afterwards.
