Michaels and his husband adopted two Chihuahua sisters from the San Diego Humane Society.
Local drag superstar and Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Chad Michaels and his husband Adam added two additions to their family yesterday.
The couple visited the San Diego Humane Society and adopted sisters Luna (black) and Lyra (tan/black); two-year-old Chihuahua terrier mixes.
San Diego Gay and Lesbian News reached out to Chad to see how the playful puppies are acclimating to their new loving environment.
“Lyra is very protective of her sister,” Chad said, “spunky and outgoing. Luna is more calm & snuggly. Together they are playful and engaging.”
In situations where siblings are involved, sometimes it is recommended that older adoptable pets stay together in an effort to alleviate separation anxieties and enhance their quality of life.
Chad said he and Adam wouldn’t have had it any other way, “Adam and I are extremely happy we were able to open our home and hearts to keep these sisters together.”
