A vigil in Seattle honoring the 49 innocent lives lost in the Orlando massacre turned horrific for one trans advocate last week.

Michael Volz, who wishes to use variations of the pronoun “they” said it happened on the way to their car parked in Capitol Hill reports Gay Star News.

According to Volz, a brown-haired man in an orange sweatshirt allegedly walked up to them and said “Hey, happy Pride” before he started choking and punching the victim, eventually kneeing Volz in the stomach.

Reports say the assailant attacked them saying ‘Show me your tits you tranny c**t,” then fled the scene.

Volz managed to get in their car and drive home while still in shock.

Once home, friends immediately took Volz to the emergency room, where doctors treated open cuts, abrasions, and bruising. Some injuries also extended to their teeth and eyes.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Volz to assist with healing and recovery, “loss of wages, emergency and ongoing medical care, extensive mental health counseling and basic living.”

The page has already gathered over $35,000 in donations.

Volz says this in not an isolated incident, and they wanted to include graphic pictures of their injuries because, “this is what transphobia looks like.”

The Seattle Police and FBI are investigating the case as a hate crime.
