An arrest has been made of an unnamed man in Sydney Australia for allegedly putting hydrochloric acid inside a lubricant dispenser at a sex club.

The club called Aarows is a tri-level building in the suburb of Rydalmere and according to their website, "provides a secure, relaxed environment where gay and bi people can meet and socialise together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."

Local police say the establishment had to have sensors installed because this isn’t the first time someone has tampered with the safety of the club.

Hydrochloric acid can cause serious injuries to skin and eyes with side-effects ranging from respiratory destruction to irreversible organ damage.

The man authorities believe to be responsible for changing the contents of the dispenser is 62-years-old.

The assailant was held by police and charged with administrating poison, entering a building with intent to commit an offense, malicious damage and driving on a suspended license.

No serious injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
