Sad news tonight as the family of the missing North Park man David Medina (AKA David Issac Bernal-Medina) says his body has been recovered in an embankment near the site of his automobile accident.
“On behalf of the Bernal family, we would like to thank you for your support during this time,” they told SDGLN. “Unfortunately David’s body was found at the bottom of the embankment where he had his accident. This is very difficult time for the Bernal and Medina family. Please keep them in your prayers.”
Medina went missing on April 5, and caused friends and family to be concerned because it was so out of his character.
Medina’s car was found on I-8 near I-805, but he was not present, causing police to put out a missing person’s report.
The 32-year-old worked in various San Diego hair salons.
His sister graduated trade school this past weekend in Tucson; an event Medina promised to attend.
No word yet on the exact cause of his death.
SDGLN reached out to the San Diego Police Department. They could offer no details at this time, but say the body they recovered didn’t appear to be involved in foul play.
At the time of this report, there are no details on memorial or funeral services.
This is a developing story. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
