KKK handouts call for violence against gays

The Klu Klux Klan (KKK) seemingly emboldened by the recent protest in Charlottesville and the back and forth support of President Trump, continue to take their cause to the next level by leaving flyers in the driveways of Louisiana homes.

The flyers are a call to action to cause harm against gays, they read, “Stop AIDS: Support Gay Bashing,” and are signed by “Loyal White Knights of the KKK.”

And if that weren’t enough, they give further explanation as to why they think violence is okay, “Homosexual men and their sexual acts are disgusting and inhuman.”

They add, “Our race is our nation.”

Unfettered by the fear of being investigated by police, the leaflets provide a web address and telephone number for those who wish to partake in the proposed actions.

Queerty reports that calling the number serves as a recruitment plea for the North Carolina Chapter, “Save our land, join the Klan, white power,” says a recorded voice. 

Visiting the site, you can download an assortment of flyers to distribute in your town.

Sonja Chaves found one outside of her house and says she is afraid.

“It’s hurtful, it’s scary,” she said. “I have a little boy. We have neighbors. They have kids.”

Reports also say that in the development where Chaves lives many other flyers have been found in paper sacks containing rocks or candy.

“I mean, I guess it’s kind of repulsive, you know,” said Patrick Sarver who lives near Caves, “I don’t discriminate against any group and I don’t feel like anyone around here should be discriminated against either.”

“I’m extremely hurt by it,” said another woman who wanted her name withheld. “As a member of the gay community… I think it shows the ignorance of society still.”

Of course, these KKK handbills are nothing new.

In 2015 we reported on this same type of canvassing in Florida, then in May of last year, the organization placed anti-trans fliers in Kentucky.  

The FBI says they are aware of the situation and are monitoring it for federal violations.
