2017 is now the deadliest year on record for murdered transgender people.
The 25th transgender person to be murdered in the United States has been reported according to New Now Next.
The HRC lists 2017 as the deadliest year on record for trans people.
Candace Towns, 30, of Georgia was found lifeless on a driveway in Macon on Tuesday.
Police report that Towns had been shot to death and had been reported missing since Saturday.
"She has always been a good person," said longtime friend Malaysa Monroe when interviewed by The Telegraph, "I just don't know who would do something like this to a good friend of mine."
Authorities also say they are investigating her death as a homicide, but have released no details of the case.
Nearly all of the trans people who have been killed this year have been women of color.
